We are delighted to announce that CHDA has successfully achieved Level 2: Disability Confident employer accreditation. This is part of our commitment to recruiting and retaining the best people, regardless of disability.

Disability Confident is a government scheme that promotes the benefits to businesses of recruiting people with disabilities. The scheme offers advice and support to employers, enabling them to actively seek and hire disabled people.

Being a Disability Confident employer means we are better placed to recruit people with disabilities, so we can build stronger and more effective teams.

Some of the initiatives we introduced include:

  • introducing internships for those with disabilities
  • advertising our vacancies with organisations that actively recruit disabled people

Our next step is to become a Disability Confident Leader. This involves demonstrating that we are a leading advocate for employing disabled people and are helping other businesses to become Disability Confident.
