Train
Exit the railway station on Academy Street, cross the road onto Union Street, turn left onto Church Street and then turn right onto Bridge Street. Cross Ness Bridge and continue on Young Street. River House is the Jobcentre Plus Building on the right-hand side (the Assessment Centre is on the fourth floor). The railway station is approximately a 15 minute walk from the Assessment Centre.
Car
Follow all signs to the City Centre. There are a number of car parks signposted including the Eastgate Shopping Centre, Millburn Road and Falcon Gallery Car Park which are very close to the railway station, or Rose Street multi-storey. There is no on-site parking or disabled parking at River House. The car park at the rear of River House is for Tesco Metro shoppers only. The Assessment Centre is approximately a 15 minute walk from the city centre car parks.
Bus
The central bus station is on Margaret Street (10 mins walk from the Assessment Centre). Walk down Margaret St, turn left onto Academy Street, take the second right onto Union Street, turn left onto Church Street and then turn right onto Bridge Street. Cross the Ness Bridge and continue on Young Street. River House is the Jobcentre Plus Building on the right-hand side (the Assessment Centre is on the fourth floor).
Alternatively, bus numbers 2, 2A, 4, 4A, 17, 28, 28A, 119, 304, 917 and 919 all stop at the bus stop (marked ‘King Street’) outside the Tesco Metro store, next door to River House.
Notes from this Centre
Please note that the Assessment Centre is located on the fourth floor. The Centre can be accessed by lift – there are 2 available – but if an emergency evacuation of the building is required such as a fire alarm, the lifts cannot be used. There are 64 steps (8 sets of 8 steps) to the ground floor. If you think that you would have difficulty going down the stairs unaided in the event of an emergency, please ring the Appointments Helpdesk number on the accompanying letter at least two days before your appointment date so we can make alternative arrangements for you.
